    Welcome to Otterly Hydrated, developed by BeerInn Technologies (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your data remains secure. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use the Otterly Hydrated iOS application (the “App”).

    Our core philosophy is simple: Your health data belongs to you. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal health data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

    2. Information We Collect

    To provide personalized hydration goals, the App requires certain demographic and physiological data.

    Data stored locally on your device:

    • Profile Data: Date of birth, weight, biological sex, activity level, and pregnancy/breastfeeding status.
    • Usage Data: Your daily water intake logs, preferred measurement units, and custom mascot name.
    • Settings: App preferences, such as your decision to enable local notifications.

    Apple Health (HealthKit) Data: With your explicit permission, the App may request read and write access to Apple Health (HealthKit).

    • Read Access: We may read your date of birth, weight, and biological sex to automatically populate your profile during onboarding.
    • Write Access: We may write your daily water consumption data (dietaryWater) to Apple Health so your records remain centralized.

    3. How We Use Apple Health (HealthKit) Data

    If you choose to integrate the App with Apple Health, we adhere strictly to the following rules:

    • No Marketing or Advertising: We will never use or disclose HealthKit data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or other use-based data mining.
    • No Selling of Data: We will never sell your HealthKit data to data brokers, information resellers, or any other entities.
    • Strictly for Core Functionality: HealthKit data is used solely to calculate your daily hydration goals and to keep your Apple Health records up to date.

    You can modify or revoke the App’s access to Apple Health at any time via the Settings app on your iOS device or within the Apple Health app itself.

    4. Data Storage and Security

    Otterly Hydrated is a “local-first” application. All your personal data and hydration logs are stored locally on your physical device. We do not maintain external servers or cloud databases to store your health information.

    If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your App data will be backed up securely to your personal Apple iCloud account, governed by Apple’s privacy policies and security measures.

    5. Third-Party Services

    We do not use third-party analytics SDKs, ad networks, or tracking frameworks that collect or share your personal data.

    6. Children’s Privacy

    Otterly Hydrated is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can guide you on how to delete the app and its local data from the device.

    7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or Apple’s App Store guidelines. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy and provide a notice within the App if required.
