Any information stored is not shared with ANY third parties.  Name, Email address and message are only stored so that we may respond to your inquiry.

Our VFR Weather Basic and VFR Weather IOS applications do not collect any information.
These IOS apps only make publicly available API calls to gather aviation weather information supplied from avaitionweather.gov’s public API.

Note about avaitaionweather.gov  API calls:
There is a limit to the number of calls that can be made: 100 per minute and a maximum of  5,000 calls per day.
If you are making many calls, you may exceed your limit although that is fairly unlikely.

Both VFR wether apps use local caching based on time so that calls are not repeated for the same airport based on:
METAR: caches call until the top of the hour (METARs usually update at 5 minutes of the hour (ex:  9:55, 10:55, etc. but aviation weather may have a delay so the app caches until 10:00, 11:00, etc.
TAF reports are generated every 6 hours and the app caches based on those 6 hour timings.
